Kirsten played 4 years of Division 1 College Volleyball at Saint Mary's College of California where she earned team MVP awards and All-Conference WCC recognition.

Prior to playing at Saint Mary's College Kirsten played 3 years of Varsity Volleyball at Tokay High School where she was named the Tokay and SJAA League MVP.

Kirsten returned to volleyball in 2011 as the Varsity Coach at Linden High School.  After two seasons, she moved to Edison High School of Stockton where she coached the Varsity team for three seasons, leading them to playoffs in both 2014 & 2015. Kirsten returned to her high school alma-mater in 2019 and had the honor of coaching the Tokay Varsity team to playoffs.
