Taylor was born on March 2nd, 1998, in Modesto, California to Jeff and Irene Laugero. Taylor was born into a volleyball family: her mother played volleyball for Delta College and has coached for over 24 years.
Taylor attended Escalon High School where she was a multi-sport athlete. She served as a four year Varsity starter for her high school volleyball team, 2 of those years as captain. Over her four years, Taylor received many awards including Most Valuable Player, Athlete of the Week, Most Inspirational Player, Most athletic Senior female and TVL All-League.
Taylor first began playing club volleyball at Impact when she was 8 years old. Her mother had been the director of Impact Volleyball Club for 16 years. After Impact, Taylor played for Delta Valley Volleyball Club and Pacific Coast Volleyball Club. While at Delta Valley, Taylor played for our very own Richard Chan! Taylor attended 4 Junior National Championships throughout her years of club, competing against and alongside the best competition in the country.
In 2015, as a junior in high school, Taylor joined a USA High Performance team competing in Europe at the Global Challenge. This tournament includes the best players and teams from all over the world. Later her junior year, Taylor committed to Santa Clara University as a four year libero. While at Santa Clara, Taylor coached for Academy Volleyball Club.
Taylor played in the West Coast Conference for Santa Clara University and in the Pac-12 for the University of Utah. She transferred after her Sophomore season. Taylor immediately established herself as a Division I player in the NCAA. As a freshman, Taylor made the USC Baden Invitational All-Tournament Team. She also recorded 471 digs which was 10th-most all-time for a single season in program history. Her 4.28 dig/set average was the 9th-best all-time for a single season in program history as well. Both were the second-best numbers by a freshman in program history. Her 32 dig record tied for the 7th-most in program history for a single match. Taylor ranked 3rd in the NCAA with 6.18 digs/set after her first few weekends as a collegiate player.
Taylor will be serving as a floater coach this season! We are excited to welcome her back to our Delta family!
