Nancy Camacho’s volleyball career began when she was about 12 years old. Growing up in a predominately soccer playing family, her mother was always pushing her to try volleyball for a change. When she did she loved all of it! From that moment forward she played club volleyball for a total of 6 years, and high school volleyball for all 4 years. She vividly remembers coming to the Delta Valley Volleyball Clinics at such a young age up until she graduated high school in 2018. Nancy was also under the instruction of Richard Chan himself for many years.
In high school, Nancy played volleyball all 4 years at Cesar Chavez High School as the starting Libero. Each year she played she was awarded the Most Valuable Player, given the Coaches award, and was named captain of her team even as the Libero her last 2 years of Volleyball at the Varsity level. She was also awarded the title of Best Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and her senior year in 2017.
She made the 1st all around conference team as a Libero in all of the SJAA league twice in both 2016 and 2017. She was also awarded Female Scholar athlete of the Year back in 2017 as well. Finally, she graduated as the Salutatorian of her class in 2018 and attended UC Davis right after high school.
Nancy is still pursuing her career of becoming a Nurse and plans to graduate next year!
Nancy is currently the co-head coach of the Junior Varsity team at her alumni school of Cesar Chavez. Nancy has a big passion for volleyball and just wants to express that love for it through her coaching. She values self expression, and players who are always willing to learn new things and push themselves to be better! This will be her second year coaching for the Delta Valley family, she can not wait to see what this upcoming club season has in store for her. She is ready to share her personal experience and knowledge of volleyball to the younger generation!
