Matt Miller

Matt began his volleyball career in Santa Barbara, California in 1989 and played both sand and grass doubles throughout Northern California between 1989-1998.
After returning home to Stockton in 1991, Matt had the opportunity to be a part of the first men's volleyball club at San Joaquin Delta College coached by Mary Ann Paz. Matt began his coaching career as the Delta College Assistant Coach for the women's program throughout the 1992-1994 seasons. In 1995, he was the Head Varsity Volleyball coach for Bear Creek High School. Over the next 10 years, Matt continued to expand his volleyball experience and knowledge by coaching at many local volleyball clubs including Sacramento Volleyball Club, Club Stockton, Delta Valley, and Club Pacific. After taking a break to start a family, Matt joined the Saint Mary's High School Volleyball Staff from 2004-2007 where he had the opportunity to coach at both the Freshman and Junior Varsity levels. Matt joined Spark Volleyball Club for their inaugural season in 2013 and stayed for three seasons as a Head Coach for 12s,14s, and 15s. Matt then joined Rage Volleyball Club for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. In 2016 Matt returned to the Saint Mary's High School Volleyball Staff to coach with Jayne Gibson-McHugh (UOP alumni, UOP Coach, and USA Olympian) and Joe Wortman (UOP Men's Coach) From 2016-2022, he served in many capacities at Saint Mary's HS including Varsity Assistant and Junior Varsity Head Coach for both the Girl's and Boy's Programs.
Matt and his wife Diana have three children: Olivia, Emma and Benjamin (professional baseball pitcher). Emma just so happens to be our "Coach Emma" - 2023 Delta Valley 14s Assistant Coach, Delta Valley Alumni, and current member of the William Jessup University Volleyball Team.
Matt is excited to join the Delta Valley Coaching Staff. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge, experience and passion for the game of volleyball.
